How To Set Up Your Awelex Account
Setting up your Awelex.com account is pretty easy and straight forward. As a non-custodial exchange, your Awelex.com account comes with no wallet features which makes the process even faster.
1) Click on Sign Up
Click on the sign up button at the home page.
If you are on mobile, you will need to click on the three bars located at the top right corner of the home page to reveal the sign up button.
2) Enter your details
Fill in your email, first name, last name and password. Please it's necessary that you fill in your correct names because this will help to verify you in Awelex with ease. The name you provide in the form must be the same one that appears in your bank account details that are linked to your BVN. After that, please read our terms and privacy policy.
Once you are done, accept the terms and privacy policy then click on 'Register'.
3) Verify your email
After you clicked on register, an email will be sent to you to verify your email address. Please check your email and click on the confirmation link inside the email to confirm your email address.
4) Verify your Identity
We need you to verify your identity to make sure that the information you have provided is correct. Verification includes your Bank Verification Number (BVN), phone number and bank account. Your BVN is required to verify your name(s) and date of birth. We need your bank account details so we know where to transfer the money you receive when you sell cryptocurrency on Awelex. To verify your identity, click on the 'start verification' link at the top of the dashboard.
From the Verify Identity page, put in your BVN and date of birth in the required text fields and click ‘Verify’. If you can’t remember your BVN, dial the USSD code *565*0# from your mobile phone. You should receive your BVN shortly after. The Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) will send the BVN associated with that phone number, so make sure it’s the number you used to register your BVN that you’re texting from.
Your BVN is then used to pull your registered phone number. Check that the last four digits in the number field match the ones in your phone number and click ‘Send OTP to*****’ to receive a one-time password (OTP). Input the OTP in the text field and click 'Verify'.
After that, click on ‘Bank Account Verification’. Type in your bank account number, select your bank from the drop-down menu, and click ‘Save Account’.
That’s all! You have successfully added your bank account to your profile and your identity successfully verified. After verifying your bank account, this is what your account verification page should look like – all three steps with green ticks.
